Fleischmanns is in a Revitalization Mode

Fleischmanns is currently experiencing revitalization. A number of factors are leading up to this. They are 1) Sanitary sewers, 2) Real estate developments, and 3) a revitalization study underway.

Sewer Project Nearing Completion

The main sewer lines are in, the streets are repaved and the lateral connections are in for each building. The sewerage treatment plant is completed and is up and running. A number of properties have already been connected, and the remaining properties are expected to be connected by the end of 2007.

Development in the Area

There are two real estate developments about to take place around Fleischmanns. One is the Crossroads Resort project. A compromise is in the works, which would allow for a golf course, a five star hotel, and condos on the Fleischmanns’ side of the Belleayre Ski Center. The other development would be about 25 mini-estates, each about 5 to 15 acres, which would sell from $750,000 to $1,500,000. The land for this project has already been approved for sub-division.

Revitalization Study

A revitalization study has been commissioned for the Parsons School of Design, working with SUNY (New Paltz) to develop plans for the revitalization of the Village of Fleischmanns. A meeting was held on July 7, 2007 to inform people about the study. Clearly, this is a plus for Fleischmanns.

Alfredo Santos Returns to Fleischmanns

An Alfredo Santos exhibit will open at the ART, et cetera Gallery 1164 Main Street Fleischmanns on August 4 and run for the rest of the summer. In fact, Alfredo himself will be in Fleischmanns on August 25 TH for a reception. For
