fall foliage around Fleischmans, here in the Central Catskills, is as
beautiful as any in |

or New Hampshire - and closer to New York City. It's the same species of
trees being |
| affected
by the same time of the year and similar weather. The foliage here has long
been one |
| of
the best kept secrets of the area, much to the loss of tourists. The leaves
usually peak out |
| about
Columbus Day October 12 th. While the leaf peeping season is now just about
over, one |
| should
start now to make plans for next year. In 2008, there will be a fall foliage
foto contest, so |
| start
getting your camera ready now. |
